His malfeasance lay not in his arguments, but in their motivation. Judaism embraces argument "These and these are both the words of the Living  G-d", says the Talmud (Eruvin 13B). However, argument is good when  it concerns ideas, policies and philosophies. Self esteem is a good thing, But when self- esteem becomes located in winning an argument, the ego aspect destroys everything. This is what happened with Korach and why we are admonished not be like him.
